Get to know me
My name is Tegan Peterson and I am a licensed clinical social worker and the owner of Sunrise Counseling Services. I truly believe being a therapist is my life’s calling. I am so grateful and honored to be able to sit with folks every day as they process, learn more about themselves, and explore their goals. I believe therapy is for everyone and we are all capable of growing and healing. In the therapy space, I bring in my years of experience, education, and knowledge of various therapeutic strategies and theories. I primarily use psychodynamic theory in my approach, though I will also bring in tenets of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), attachment-based, strengths-based, and other theories depending on the individual need of each client.
My philosophy is the relationship and rapport we build throughout the therapeutic process is one of the most important parts of the work we will do together, and your voice should always lead the way. You are the expert on you and I look forward to getting to know you.
